| Welcome!
Is there a woman who doesn’t remember the perfectly dressed little friend with ribbons in her hair and bows on her dresses? Does she remember her without a tinge of envy? The time someone took to fashion the pretty clothes she wore to school?
Only a few don’t reminisce over an article of clothing owned, saved, or discovered in dusty attics or on Saturday excursions into garages or boot sales. Is there a woman today who did not play “Glamour Girl” with her mother’s clothes? Or spend rainy afternoons with dolls and fairy tales? Perhaps in her own grandmother’s attic dressing-up in outdated clothes too precious to discard.
Today, we take for granted ribbons and silks and leathers and lace. In the accelerating spin of time they dissolve into background impressions, or are forgotten.
We believe there are still women with a special style, women who continue to take pleasure from the drama of “dress-up,” who enjoy the fancy and the fantasy of their younger days. Women who know the importance of tradition and bring it into the present. Special women who, when the occasion is right, reflect on the past, take a bit of it, and wear it. Women who possess attitude, style and élan, knowing instinctively this is no longer a relic but a blessed time-traveler, transforming the past into today’s joy and tomorrow’s wonder.
It will recall our today again as a new yesterday, in the memory of an event, special in their lives, requiring once more a glamorous and unique article of some apparent mere frippery, which is, then, no longer frippery. It is tomorrow’s heirloom.
Perhaps a young girl will discover it in her attic and smile.
We are here today. We admire these women of style. They take over a room.
